Good morning everyone!
Thank you all so much for the prayers and encouragement! Today we woke up early to eat breakfast and go to the soccer fields. We had our first day of soccer camp today and were able to successfully work with the kids and somewhat communicate with them despite the language barrier. Thankfully it was not too hot today, although it did get hot in the afternoon, it rained for about an hour which felt great and really cooled things down. Overall, the day was a success and the love of Jesus was evident. We had some khmer (Kah-my) food for breakfast and dinner. Along with the food we have been learning a lot about the khmer culture and how they communicate. Please keep praying throughout the week that we will be able to reach the kids that are participating in this soccer camp. At the end of the day we did a few scrimmages and the kids were having a great time! Everyone on our team also had an amazing time hanging out with the kids, joining in on playing soccer, and learning the kids names. Our team has also had time to hangout with each other and get some much needed rest. As I am writing this our team is playing Pictionary in the Center, the place we are staying at. Please pray that each of us will get the rest that we need and be able to recuperate physically and mentally each day so that we are ready to go the next day.
