Day 3: Church and Final Prep

If I could give 3 words for today it would be a day of learning, adapting, and glorifying.

It started with eating samosas which can be best described as small triangle shaped African Philly cheesesteaks - very yummy. We also learned that African time is equivalent to their kilometer… just not quite the same as American measurements but we have began to adapt to that (sorta). Today we spent a lot of time fellowshipping with each other, prepping for the week of camp, playing games outside, going on a “1 kilometer” run, learning more about the culture, and ending the night with meeting the students! What a joy it has been to play games and dance with the kids so far. I can confidently speak for the whole team to say WE ARE SO EXCITED!!!

One of my favorite parts of today was going to the Kenyan church. There’s just something so glorifying and special about seeing a different culture’s way of worshipping the Lord. And let me tell you… the Kenyans choir did not disappoint. I’ve been so excited to see and be apart of the way Kenyans worship and it was entirely worth it. It was so good we saw it twice!! Our team saw both David Harrop and Adam Derus deliver the Word of God to such an exciting and welcoming group of people. Worship is such a neat way to see Jesus and for me it was a such an exciting glimpse of what heaven will look like.

Thank you for all who are praying for us! Pray for energy and rest as we hear into the first day of camp!
God bless you all,
Katina
