Getting Ready to Go and God's Faithfulness

As the leader of the India team, I would like to share with you God's loving care and attention during our preparation by sharing this one small incident, “small“ that illustrates so clearly who He is!

One day when I was at work, a stranger walked into my office, announcing themselves to be an auditor with the state. No one looks forward to being audited, myself included, especially since I have just taken on the role of supervisor. Once I understood all that she needed I proceeded to find everything for her. During the process of her entering all of the needed information, I shared with her that it was good that she came this week. She asked me why that was true. I told her I would be out of the country next week. It would’ve been very difficult for her to leave successfully, had I not been there to help accumulate what she needed. Interested she asked me where I was going and I told her to India for a mission trip with my church for 10 days.

This led us through a five-minute conversation about families personally traveling, and so on, but it was all on a rabbit trail, as far as her audit was concerned, we were just talking on a friendly casual level, but she was very interested and connected.

Once she finished her work, gathered her things and headed to the door. I asked her if there was any reason she would ever need to come back and she said no. “I am completely done, and my office will be satisfied with what I am going to present.” With that we said goodbye and I thanked her for being patient during the process of me finding everything for her.

Less than 10 minutes later, she drove back into the parking lot and walked into the office again. Smiling at her I put my hands on my hips and said with my stern look: “You promised me you would not need to come back and here you are already!” We both laughed out loud, and she replied:” I had to come back. “The Holy Spirit told me to.” At that point, she reached into her pocket and pulled out some money, and handed it to me saying.” I am so sorry I don’t have more to give you towards your trip, but this is all I have. Please take it and use it.”

Needless to say, I was speechless! It was obviously a God moment! Here was a total stranger that I had shared my personal life with for less than an hour - and she was willing to be obedient and step out by faith and share financially to help pay for my trip, for our ministry in India.

God really does want this trip to happen. I have been shown repeatedly that it is true. If we step out by faith in obedience, God will show us his glory. Thank you for joining us in this ministry of showing God's glory to a people group who never even heard of our God. They have no idea how glorious and personal and loving and gracious He is. Please pray earnestly that our life before them illustrates our God, and not ourselves.

In closing I want to ask, "Can you imagine what it will be like to walk down the streets of Gold, and have someone step off of the sidewalk and ask if they can walk with you and explain to you how your prayer and your giving helped them to leave the life they lived in India without God - and start a personal relationship with Him?"

Only God can take your five loaves and two fish and bless them to make an eternal difference. Father, help now my unbelief for Your name sake. Use me I pray, in Jesus name. Amen.

Thanks for partnering with us,
Curt
