After arriving Sunday we settled in and stretched our legs with some soccer and volleyball. After dinner we had our first small group time and headed to bed so we could start bright and early Monday morning. After breakfast Monday and our daily chant we were on our way to New Day to serve, where Chris the director greeted us and shared the goal and plan of the week. He encouraged us to be a locust of blessing, leaving a mark everywhere we went. In contrast to the plague of locust in Exodus. We weeded, peeled old paint, trimmed bushes, and cleaned the New Day building. The kids laughed and served with joy, but were tired and ready to head back to camp for the evening. Coming back to Pine Springs, we bonded over more soccer and pool time. Then ended the day with a campfire and our “bead ceremony” where we handed out beads for service, encouragement, leadership, and stepping out of our comfort zones.
