The camp week has come to an end and what a wild week it has been. Today we started out with some awesome Kenyan worship followed by the daily devo led by Grace, who is a Kenyan Counselor and is on the worship team. After the devo was an amazing Hype session run by Matt, Tori, Alona, and Tyson. William and Laurie taught an incredible lesson focusing on walking in love, light and wisdom. After teaching we did small groups for the last time. There were some emotions but we all were thankful for the groups that God put us in. We also had the chance to see the student’s presentations of their workshops where they did drama, music, poetry, and dance. The final thing we did today was the banquet where we celebrated the week and crowned white team the champion, gave out awards, ate delicious food, and ended with a dance party. We said our final goodbyes to the students and Kenyan counselors at the end of the banquet. All in all, this week was a week full of trials and hardships but God was evident in every aspect of the week.
My personal experience this week has been extremely different from the rest of the team. I woke up Monday morning with a high fever, but by the grace of God and from prayers that I was receiving I was able to be a part of camp yesterday and today. I have been so blessed by my team for taking over in my place and by Stephanie Onguka for medical care. God has taught me a lot here this week and I hope and pray I don’t forget what I have learned from this week.
Some prayers request from the team are….
1. Pray that we can catch some rest tomorrow and that we would be able to process our week of camp well.
2. Please be praying for those of us who aren’t feeling well and are getting sick that they would heal quickly.
3. Pray for the students as they travel home tomorrow and that they would apply what they learned this week into their everyday life
Thank you so much for your continual prayers as they are greatly appreciated by the whole team!
