Today we made the 6 hour journey back to Kampong Cham from Siem Riep. A reflective atmosphere permeated the van. We shared more personal testimonies around the van and learned a bit more about the history of the women who will be coming to this upcoming weekend's conference. Many of these women are unfamiliar with Bible Study whereas the many women from the previous conference had some or a good bit of experience. Please pray as we make adjustments to our lessons in order to simplify again for these specific women.
Along with travel, today could be described as one full of active resting as yesterday stretched the team emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually even as it was fruitful, good and necessary to the work we are doing. But this only reminds me of how important it is to continue praying for and supporting those actively working in the fields of the Lord's Harvest where strongholds of darkness currently coincide. What strength endowed by the Holy Spirit that these blessed workers of Light have!
In a culture so vastly different from our own, this strength of and from the Lord was made abundantly clear. The west has its own strongholds of darkness for sure but they look so incredibly different. How glorious that our Lord sends the Light of His Son into the darkness via His children to bring those trapped in darkness into the Light. Please continue praying for the many workers like Brian and Jody and that the Lord of the Harvest would continue to send more and more workers out into the field; for the fields truly are ripe for harvest in spite of the darkness!
It truly makes me grateful to be a part of a church like Calvary with such strong and gracious leaders that invest in both equipping and building up their local members to reach those closest to us as well as training up and sending out members to remote places to reach those farthest from us. May the Lord Himself continue to bless and increase both endeavors.
Please pray for the continued health of the team as digestive issues have started among some and strength is needed from the Lord in the final day and a half before the next 2-day conference. It's hard to believe we are officially past the halfway point of the trip today. We know our Lord is going to continue to do mighty works for His name's sake (like the many He already has been doing this past week) and we need your strength and prayers in this endeavor! Thank you, beloved church, for uplifting us and this precious work before our Lord: our Savior and our Leader.
