As always, it is an honor and a privilege to be able to share my abilities and skills, “that God has graciously given to me”, to help support our Global Partners at the Word of Life camps in the Philippines. This trip was a little different, in the fact that its intent was focused on reaching Out to the Women of the Philippines, through Worship, teaching, and small group focus times. There were (4) different Venues that our team Participated in our “Gather – Anxious for nothing” events. Word Of Life Seaside Camp, Malaybalay, Valencia, & Word of Life Laguna Camp. In all between 800 – 1,000 women participated in these events. Some traveling as far as 8 hours away for the 3-hour event. For some Filipinos, this could mean a great sacrifice to make this happen.
As the women were facilitating these events, I was able to stay back at the Word Of life Seaside camp and help start the Outdoor shower Project, that we had envisioned starting back in September when we were there. I put my plumbing skills to play and ran all the supply lines and helped with the drain line, prior to pouring the concrete footers and slab. We were able to get the shower columns started and poured as well as the pad. This area will be utilized by the camp for long stay & day campers to wash off after swimming in the ocean or sports activities. During this time, they continued to pour the Pier footings for the Basketball Court roof as well. Considering that they mix all the Concrete by hand, Stone, Sand, & Fly ash, it’s quite a lot of work. Luckily, the camp employes outside help to get the work done. I’m amazed by the work ethic of these gentlemen. All In all, we were able to accomplish quite a bit in the short time that we were there. God is so good all the time!
I am constantly amazed by God’s provision and love for his people. As you know me, it’s my goal and vision in my own life to be “intentional” about my faith. I'm blessed to be provided with a platform/environment at work, that we are able and encouraged to live out our faith to everyone that we encounter.
