Instead of another day in Maximovca, Angela and Snejana drove the whole team to Dancu, a farm near the Romanian Border with which AgConnect partners, which was also the one where Ken had lived and worked when he was last in Moldova. Ken and Rod were in their element as we toured and connected (or reconnected) with the people there. Demetri, Slavic, Vasili, Natalia, and many others were more than excited to show us around the dairy, the cheese shop, the cafe, and the local center that the farm operates/funds/owns. This center serves meals to locals in need and features a classroom for special needs children. It was amazing to see how the Lord is leading them to continue doing more for their community. Slavic mentioned that he envisions a section of the warehouse area he showed becoming a home for elderly individuals to provide care and companionship, as most younger family members have left Moldova. Rod and Ken spoke with each member of the farm about ways to hopefully improve milk production from their cows, and discussed their planting/harvesting practices for the crops they work with. After visiting the farm, some of us went into Chisinau for a bit of light sightseeing. Tomorrow, we are back to work around the farm in Maximovca with Angela.
Please be praying for the ministry and farm in Dancu. That the Lord would send good, hard workers for the farm, and that the ministry would continue to blossom. Additionally, pray that the ideas discussed today between the farmers and our team bear fruit, and that the messages/stories shared are heard and put into practice, utilizing the resources available to the farm.
