Dear Parents and Supporters,
Today's theme at camp was based on what love is and what it means to love others. We read and discussed a passage in 1 Corinthians, talking about God's love for us and how we can put that into action. We progressed on our memorization on this week's memory verse, 1 John 4:10. Throughout our day, we pushed ourselves and our campers, to practice loving each other even when that meant putting aside our immidiate reactions or emotions, and following what Jesus has asked of us. We focused on 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 - how love does not boast or brag, love is not envious, love does not celebrate wrongdoing, love lifts up truth, love always hopes, and love never ends. We dove deeper into 1 Corinthians 13:13 which talked about faith, hope, and love and how they should be prioritized in our day to day life. We continued to talk to and pray with our campers, making sure to implement Jesus in as many conversations as we could. After camp had ended, we headed into a local shop near the church, where refugee women in the area had sown many things, such as wallets, keychains, headbands, and bags. When we finished our shopping, we headed back to the church to eat dinner and listen to a testimony. This testimony was told by a young women involved in the camp who's name was Ash, who was refugee from Pakistan. Her story was extremely encouraging and uplifting to everyone that had the opportunity to hear it. She implemented a strong theme of how God's forgivness is everlasting and unconditional. We were so grateful to be able to finish off day five of the trip with this special story, and hope to continue to plant seeds of God's love and the Gospel into the camper's hearts.

Sincerely,
