Whas up fam,
July 12 of the Calvary Philippians Mission Trip included many and I’m talking a boatload full of activities and fun today. To start out the impactful day, we woke up bright and early, skipping breakfast, including our morning protein, to help out the youth in a strenuous but exhilarating basketball clinic. This professional clinic included drills to further the development of the next generation of hoopers representing the tropical nation of the Philippians. The Calvary Team taught, while the young bloods popped it like it was hot.
Following this unique combination of different skill sets, devos were devoted, testimonies were testified, and the good news was indeed very good during this time of diverse interaction. Zach Zimmerman took center court to give his one and only life altering testimony. We broke into small groups together which included Calvary team members getting reps up sharing the gospel while the local players received valuable information.
Following this unforgettable experience was good ol’ breakfast. Standard meal, nothing worth writing about though. Right behind the dust of breakfast was a STORM seminar. Yeah, you heard that right. STORM, which stands for Sending Teens Out to Reach the Masses. This included four points. 1. All have sinned. 2. There are repercussions for sin. 3. Jesus Christ put Himself in the game to die for all our sins. And 4. Salvation is a free gift.
We went into a park and shared the gospel with strangers. We all enjoyed the challenges and rewards of planting seeds in people. We all were able to share the gospel and some even prayed and accepted Christ into their life. Our team was heavily impacted by the fact that God brought us halfway around the world just for that moment. We went into the streets today and just walked up to people and shared the gospel and people accepted Jesus in their life today, it was wild! It was uncomfortable and could have been overwhelming but the team truly took the challenge on and built each other up. We all felt the challenge, if we can do it here why can’t we do it at home. Our desire is to live out as iron sharpens iron so one man sharpens another.
Reflecting on the past 24 hours, Personally, I was reminded with God’s faithfulness, how all things are possible with Him and how all things work together for His glory. (I see you mom).
Peace, Logan Esbenshade
