Today started with a church service at the church in Kabarak. Adam Derus preached on Daniel 6:7-23. We were praying for him because he woke up with a sore throat and he was unsure if his voice would hold up. By God’s grace, Adam preached a powerful message on trusting God in the face of opposition. We were warmly greeted by the church staff after the service where we enjoyed food, fellowship, and we learned more about how God is working in and through Kabarak University and church.
We departed from the Kabarak University Campus (where the church is located) and headed back to the One Life Campus for a yummy lunch. Some of us chose to walk since the distance is only one mile from church to the One Life campus.
Following lunch we played some volleyball, spikeball, and pingpong as a team. This was our first time to play a game as just our team and we had a blast! As the sunset came, we departed for a hike to see the view from the plateau of the beautiful mountains and plains below. We stayed out there until the sunset and then we returned back for dinner.
Following dinner was a devotional from James 3:3-5 about the power of the tongue and using our words to build others up. This devotional was followed by a briefing on what the upcoming days will look like and how we should prepare. We are prepping for our visit to Ilchamus people who live in Mpaka near Marigat. They are a part of an unreached people group in Kenya according to Joshua Project.
Thank you for all of your continued prayers and support. Please be praying for our planned visit to the village tomorrow that we would have a fruitful time of ministry as we connect with these people. Lord willing, we will begin building a relationship with them so that they might send students to come to One Life Africa camp in the future.
In Christ,
