Today is Friday and we completed our first full week here at the Word of Life camp Seaside. Following breakfast one of the staff members led us in a devotional after which we set out for our work duties. We did a slight pivot today and instead of the guys working on the bath house we all pitched in to do some painting on the pavilion. We were working in tandem with some of the staff here at WOL and we enjoyed the fellowship with them while we painted.
Some of the maintenance guys along with some hired workers continued the work on the bath house roof and started installing the tin by the end of the day.
The consensus of the work team and the staff is that there is a sense of accomplishment with the physical labor completed and the pleasantness of developing relationships.
We watched a basketball game put on by Word of Life with local youth as part of the sports evangelism program.
To wrap up the day some of the daring members of the team tried balut egg.
Looking forward to a weekend of new experiences.
