Today was a day of traveling the 6 hour journey to Siem Riep. So naturally the van was full of precious conversations of testimonies, questions, reflections and encouragement. I've been thinking a lot lately about the word unity. It's so precious how the common denominator of Jesus along with the Holy Spirit who indwells and seals us, also unifies His body of believers - the Church - to the honor and glory of our Lord. Even if believers have differing preferences, personalities, or opinions, because we share the same Holy Spirit and have the same goal that our Lord Jesus has given to make disciples of all nations, we can maintain unity, peace and gentleness together. We know we've asked for prayers for unity and have to thank each one of you as we've seen this team come together in a literal supernatural way.
We watched Calvary Church's service this morning prior to leaving and appreciated what Pastor Scott Messner had to say about the difference between knowledge, wisdom and understanding from the book of James. It's so precious that we are also using the book of James to teach these women how to study the Bible. Please pray that these women would not just accumulate the content and information but that they would practically apply it to their lives and allow it to transform them in a way that they encounter and grow deeper with the Living God Himself. Please pray that these local women would be united in their community groups and follow through with their commitments to study the Bible together and replicate what they've learned.
Thank you for the prayers for Lisa, she is feeling better today and for those of you who've been praying for Margaret's back pain, thank you - that has improved as well. Joshua has been diagnosed with pneumonia. Please pray that it would pass quickly prior to the start of this upcoming conference.
When we arrived at the hotel in Siem Reip we were able to rest a bit more (this hotel has a pool and is a tremendous blessing for those with physical pain) and we finished the evening out with dinner and a tour at the night market. Please pray for the rest & recovery of the team and Pastor Pisal and Sophorn as we anticipate and make modifications and preparations for this weekend's conference so that by the power of the Holy Spirit, we may pour out from "overflowing cups", drawing from the wellspring of life Himself.
We are so excited about the potential replication of this process in other countries and have started thinking through some of the details of what that might look like. Think of the potential harvest! As more and more local pastors (with pastors conferences) and local women (with women's conferences) are equipped and emboldened with the tools to study the Bible and how to teach others how to study the Bible for themselves, what fruit and lasting kingdom impact might we see?!
When we had met with the Nguyen's yesterday they had mentioned how in their ministry they aren't just thinking about this generation but the impact and potential of the future generations to come. This training and discipleship mindset is exactly the kind of thing that can make huge shifts for the kingdom of light! Please pray with us for lasting and self-replicating effects from this past conference, upcoming conference and potential future endeavors. Thank you for following along and praying for us! Tomorrow is a day of local culture as we explore and learn about many local sites of importance.
Please pray Hebrews 13:20-21 over this team with me? Thanks church family!
