Last night was full of curriculum adjustments and troubleshooting for the upcoming conference as well as lesson planning on John 4 in response to a request for a teaching at a local church group visited today. Thank you for your continued prayers as digestive issues are better. Please pray for Mary's husband Mike as he is sick in the states and for peace for Mary as she's here preparing to teach in two days.
After breakfast we went to visit Pastor Pisal and Siphorn's coconut farm to hear their hearts and pray over the harvest of the farm. A big thanks to Calvary Church's thanksgiving offering that provided the fence around the farm! A coconut farm takes 7 years to see a full harvest and they are currently in year 5 1/2. The farm is an hour away from their house and is managed in addition to the full time jobs of Pastoring, women's ministry, cell church ministering, sports ministry and running a preschool. Please pray for wisdom for Pisal and Sophorn as they navigate whether to hold the hard work and expense of the remaining 1 1/2 years until they would see a full harvest - all the while looking for someone to help manage the farm - or if they should cut and sell to focus solely on the Preschool, Pastoring and Discipleship work. Please also pray for the farm as many trees have bugs, fungus, and lack of nutrition inhibiting growth. Pray for God to bring health and increase to the fullest along with an abundance of wisdom and additional farmhands for the land.
Please pray for the funding of the future student discipleship center they are praying and planning for on land that the Lord has blessed them with. It was such a sweet connection when it was brought to my attention that a 3d rendering that I had helped Brian and Jody out with a while ago (I'm an architectural designer by profession) was actually for this student discipleship center! How cool is our God that He made that connection before I ever actually knew Pisal and Sophorn!
After a stopover at two missionaries from California's house and a delicious lunch, we ended the afternoon at a local church group (called a cell group) where I taught a lesson on John 4 and the woman at the well and challenged the group with two questions "What do you need to leave behind to follow Jesus and who do you need to tell?" Now at the hotel, we are making final preparations and resting in advance for tomorrow's conference. Please cover us and the whole conference along with the women coming as it starts bright and early tomorrow morning at 8 am. Thank you church family!
