Hello everyone,
With today's teaching concluded, the our team is wrapping up our ESL lessons here. The last actual lesson has been taught and now all that remains are the formalities and congratulating our students for what they've accomplished.
The week has sped by quickly and reaching the end is bittersweet. As is so often the case with short term trips, in many ways it feels like we've only just begun and the relationships we've built, and the effort we have given, still have so much potential to be realized. For more than a few of us, our thoughts are already turning to when we can come again. And yet what we have been able to do has far exceeded our initial expectations, by the faithfulness of God.
God has been abundantly good and present this week, in the doors he has opened and the way he has provided for us through sickness, busy schedules, and cultural obstacles. We serve a God who is bigger than any opposition and that has been felt and seen. Each team member has incredible and specific stories to that effect, more than we can fit here, so be sure to ask us when we come home.
The facility hosting us has been beautiful. The faith of the teachers at the school has been an encouragement, and we hope to have likewise encouraged them. Most importantly, the students themselves have opened our eyes to a world of need for the redeeming, and reconciling Grace of God. Our prayers are now that God would continue to water seeds planted and continue to uphold the ongoing ministry of the local church in this area.
Pray for safety and health as we begin turning towards home.
Pray for our students and the plans God has for their lives.
Pray for the teachers here whose work continues.
And pray for all of the lives yet to be reached in the north.
