Day 1 of Lancaster English Camp at the Haven was a success! We welcomed 34 children today! They learned how to introduce themselves in English, express where they are from, say words to describe themselves, and describe things they like to do. They also were able to do a mosaic craft featuring the first letter of their name. They had a pizza lunch and enjoyed singing English songs together after eating. They had a blast in the gym playing relays like running with a balloon between their legs, keeping a balloon in the air with a pool noodle, and running from one side of the gym to the other with four people in one hula-hoop! It was hilarious, and the children had SO much fun! Our amazing camp volunteers are excited to welcome back these children again tomorrow as they learn more about their home country of Afghanistan.
