Day 4 of Lancaster ESL Camp: Farm Animals and A Visit to a Lancaster Farm!!!

Day 4 of camp was our best day of camp yet! Today, 40 campers learned about farm animals and then were able to go to a real working farm! They loved it, and they had SO much joy on their little faces! After arriving by van or walking, the children played farm animal charades. In English class, they learned vocabulary in English relating to a farm and farm animals. Then, all of the campers went in vans to an Amish farm in Lancaster county. After eating a picnic lunch of peanut butter and jelly, the children were able to go on a hayride around the farm pulled by two working mules. The children then went on a tour of the barn. They were able to feed horses, mules, and cows. They bottle fed baby calfs, and those that wanted to were able to milk a cow. The children were then able to hold baby bunnies, chicks, lambs, kittens, and puppies. The children could NOT stop smiling! They loved the baby animals! After a tour of the barn, the children went on a barrel ride, walked through a wheat field, saw miniature horses, and played in corn. The farmer at the farm passed out tracks about Jesus's love to the children. Please pray that the right children took these home and that seeds of Christ's love would be planted in their hearts. The children then enjoyed van rides home. The children are excited to come back next Monday to learn about Afghanistan past and present. Please pray for these precious children that they could see the love of Jesus pouring out through the wonderful volunteers. Pray also for traveling mercies for the six new team members coming from West Virginia to join us at camp next week.
