Today was another wonderful day. We again began with devotions, primarily led by Trey and Logan. This started up spontaneously at the start of the trip and it has been neat to see as our team comes together more. Following the devotions, we left for the church to begin our day of ministry. Despite a slow start, we were thankful to have a decent number of kids. The VBS began with little games including soccer and beach balls, then transitioned into the worship time. The worship team led the group well and really brought the energy. Kyle and Marie set a great tone with a well delivered message on creation, followed by a variety of stations, including games of gaga ball and ball tag, a memory verse activity (Ephesians 2:8-9), and a craft time (binoculars to see God’s creation/a treasure chest to hold symbols of all they learn this week). There were many great interactions between team members and kids as we made known the gospel.
After VBS we enjoyed lunch (which included some Saint Lucian sugar cane), before handing out flyers to try to draw more in more kids for the VBS together. Handing out flyers was a neat experience as it helped me to see more of the area we are serving and more about where the kids are coming from. Next, we left for soccer ministry at a local field. We ran drills and played a game with the kids, with a halftime message and testimony. Our day was filled, but so incredible. The gospel was shared often and many relationships were developed.
As we go into tomorrow, please pray that more kids would attend the VBS and soccer ministry, and that we would have even more opportunities to share the story of Christ’s love and sacrifice.
