We had a great Tuesday in Dennery as we continue our second week of VBS and soccer ministry! We had a great breakfast (as always) provided by the ladies of the hotel, and we then walked over to the church for VBS. We set the tone very quick with worship, and EVERYONE was getting into it. The kids are loving the songs, and it is so fun to see them doing the dances and singing along. While we were battling rainy weather and storms, we still had so much fun throughout the stations and saw so much growth despite the gloomy weather! After VBS we came back and ate lunch then enjoyed the pool for a little bit since we were already soaking wet from the rain. Some people took naps during our hour break between camps and others continued to enjoy the pool.
We got all set for soccer and walked there as a group. At the beginning we hung out with some of the kids and talked to them! Then the games started, one game of younger kids, and another full-field game with the older guys (who were very good). After that was half time where Jackson Rice gave his moving testimony that kids really seemed to take heart to. We then split into groups and just spread the Gospel with the young men and women of St Lucia, and we just connected with them. There were several kids that decided to accept Jesus Christ into their life which we are all so excited for. In the second half, the older guys absolutely SMOKED us! There was still good sportsmanship all around though!
After, we came back and ate a super yummy dinner, and heard testimonies from Jackson Rice and Christy. We then hyped up our teammates on all the great things they did, along with celebrating all the moments we saw God working in the day. We were having fun afterwards and played cards, and hopped in the pool again! Overall it was an amazing day and we saw God’s blessings everywhere!
