Sweet Endings

We started our day with the reading of Lamentations 3:22-24. Angela, Seth, and I traveled to see a farmer named Sergia near the Ukrainian border today to observe his no-till farming practices. The country of Moldova is experiencing a severe drought this year, and its crops appear stressed. Sergia planted a no-till plot where we could see the value of no-till. Although the corn looked stressed, the no-till corn was much healthier. We also happened to meet a farmer named Andre Dinga, who Sergia says is the first major adopter of no-till practices in the country.

Today Rod and I picked ripe red tomatoes for one last time to help Angela fill an order she had. Then Ken, Beth, Snejana, and I went to the Chinsau Open Air Market and found a few goodies for Angela and for our supporters. To all those who have prayed for us, we can not say enough. We have felt your prayers and are deeply grateful for your support. After our quick shopping trip, we headed to Snejana's church, Metanoia, where we took part in their youth group activities. There were nine youth there. We shared lunch, played games, and Beth shared with them about the importance of memorizing scripture. She shared the VerseLocker app with them, and we practiced various learning techniques by reading and acting out Luke 10:25-37. We each had a part, but boy, did the teens do a great job!! Beth's passion for the Word was an inspiration to all in attendance; one student downloaded the app while we were there. We closed in a time of prayer, and each person took a moment to pray; what a true blessing it was to be a part of that. We returned to the farm, had a scrumptious dinner, celebrated Snejana's birthday with watermelon, and then packed our bags. We watched a few storks while we loaded our bags into the car. We start our travel home tomorrow at 3:00 am, Moldova time. Please be praying for safe and uneventful travels. Our team has been amazing, and I believe I can speak for us all when I say we all look forward to sharing how God touched our hearts when we return to Pennsylvania. I am grateful to have been a part of such a fantastic group of individuals and thank my Heavenly Father for this wonderful opportunity to serve and to be blessed beyond measure. So long to Moldova for now!
