Dear Praying friends,
Thank you again for your prayers on our behalf. I told the students at my table today that there are a lot of people praying for this ministry team and for each one of those who are attending the OneLife Africa Leadership Summit. I told them that some of you have been praying for them for months even before some of them had decided to attend the Summit (because God knew who they were). They seemed to be authentically moved that there would be people in Pennsylvania and around the US that would care so much about what was happening in the lives of University Students from small towns in a far away place. So, thank you for being faithful to God in this way and for His glory.
Each session that we teach is purposefully designed to have about 40 minutes of teaching and then about 30 minutes of group discussion. We have 9 groups of 6-9 students each which means all six of us have a group and then there are some Kenyan leaders and counselors who also have a group. As we have conversations after each teaching session, we see good thinking and movement toward what God might have in store from many individuals. Today, I taught on the topic of Conflict Resolution with God (Salvation), as well as internal and external conflict that is all around us. Erika taught on making practical application to what we study on our own or hear in church. Judi shared a testimony then Mark taught from his heart on the value of Solitude and Silence in our personal walk with God.
After dinner and our debrief of the day, we prepared for tomorrow evening when we will have a celebration banquet (maybe a goat stew or something, who knows). We have certificates of completion for each one of them and a scripture timeline poster gift that will help them see the continuity of Scripture…which is one of the things we have taught about this week.
We covet your prayers for us as we finish this week with these great people tomorrow night. God is not finished here…with us or with the young people he has brought here.
