We continued our journey along the Apoquitaua River, traveling to 2 other villages today. On the medical side, we saw over 200 people total! We have been blessed by the Parkers for having one translator per physician which allows us to dedicate more time to hearing their stories and praying with the patients in their own language. Thank you so much for your prayers and support for this mission trip to reach the Amazon people.
VBS went great today! We worked with about 80 kids between the two villages. All of them were excited to draw Noah’s ark in the flood, and even some adults joined in with them. They did a great job of memorizing a Bible verse about how Jesus came to save us. We played some new games, too!
After leaving our second village for the day (and a brief rainstorm!), we visited the house of a local church leader. He and the local missionary lead Bible studies in his home, and his wife teaches the kids during their church services. Right now, he’s in the process of building a church building in his yard which they can use for their meetings. He and his family were very kind to us and gave us some local fruits to eat. We are excited for what the Lord is going to do through their ministry!
Please be praying that seeds were planted today in the lives of the patients and kids we served today that they would remember the Gospel and that Jesus sees them and loves them. Please also pray for the building of the church that God would provide the supplies and spiritual strength for the villagers that will lead it. Please also pray God would continue to give our mission team energy and endurance to serve the next villagers we get to meet tomorrow!
