Day 5 in Villages: 1 village today

Today, the medical team cared for 174 patients from both a Catholic village and a nearby Pentecostal village. Most of the clinic work was finished by midday, giving us the afternoon to step outside the medical setting and truly connect with the community. We laughed and played soccer with the children, savored hot chocolate made from the village’s own cacao trees, and cracked open a cacao pod to taste the sweet, tangy fruit inside.

It was a beautiful reminder that the people we meet here are so much more than “just the patients we see in clinic.” They are neighbors and friends. They come together to laugh, to share memories, and to welcome us into their culture with open hearts.

On the VBS side, we had approximately 50+ kids who had a blast as we continued on with our VBS rhythm. After lunch, as the med team carried on with the clinic, we stepped into various roles that included counting pills and playing with the kids.

Midafternoon we left the village and headed to one of our final villages. Along the way we stopped for one final swim/shower in the river. This evening was more of chill evening for us as we got to hear stories from the various missionaries that we have been serving alongside and enjoy some star gazing.

Pray with us for…
-a full and restful sleep tonight
-our last day in the villages (2 villages)
- we are aware that the first village we will go to they have experienced slot if opposition there
-no rain tomorrow night

Thank you for your continued prayers!
-Aaron & Meagan
