First Day in The Villages

Today was our first day going to a riverside village! We setup our clinic and worked out our strategy to work as a team - we saw 78 people this morning with a variety of needs, including a house call to a disabled child for which the family was very grateful, along with their pet monkey - ha! The VBS team collected kids from the village and played some games like soccer. Then we told a Bible story and shared a verse. After a little while we played some more games and the kids really enjoyed volleyball! We then cruised to another village and ate lunch on board before setting up our next clinic and VBS time. Our second village had fewer and younger children and so our team had to pivot with games and teaching to match their ages. Our medical team saw 70 people in the afternoon, including several families, one such couple was deaf and mute raising 2 hearing and speaking children. We ended our evening with Jessie sharing her testimony, Rick giving a sermon and the whole team singing for the village! It was a great day had by all! We have been blessed with seasoned translators in the Parker family for both the medical and VBS teams! Thank you for your prayers - our God is hearing and blessing us and the people in these villages! Please continue praying for the Lord to work in the lives of the people we have met and those we’re going to meet tomorrow as we plan to venture into 2 more villages.
